Eye in the sky on ancient Egypt's hidden secrets |
What
would Howard Carter, discoverer of Tutankhamun's tomb, have made of the new world of satellite technology? Would he have
called it archaeology by proxy? Instead of peering by candlelight through a
hole in a wall to view the hoard of treasures inside Tutankhamun’s tomb
chamber, archaeologists today are peering down from space to see the treasures
below the sand and in answer to the question “can you see anything?” they are
saying “wonderful things!”
