The Long and the Short of mystery, adventure, mythology and archaeology fiction reading. PAPERBACK or e-BOOK
Personally, I find that the e-book format is well suited to a shorter length and I recall that some of my favorite pieces of fiction of all time were shorter in length (Ernest Hemingway's 'The Snows of Kilamanjaro' etc.). In fact, my very first published story was a short-short 'Give a Man Rope', published in the Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine, New York, back in the day.
Will we see a return to tighter, more honed stories?
Printed novels seem to have become bulkier and bulkier, perhaps driven by the necessity to wrestle for shelf space, but the value-bulk equation vanishes with more economical e-books.
